22 miles of sagebrush and canyons separate the South Entrance of Zion National Park from Hurricane, UT. While most visitors drive the distance, dependence on personal vehicles is becoming increasingly unsustainable as visitation to the park rises. The Zion Regional Collaborative aims to build a regional, multi-use trail from Hurricane to the Park. The trail would enable residents and visitors alike to use alternate modes of transportation, while developing a greater appreciation for the landscape. This trail would also create new opportunities for recreation. Proposed connections to campsites, mountain biking routes, and hiking trails would facilitate days-long adventures in the canyon.
